We are a Dutch couple, Martine and Paul, who bought, and converted a beautiful property just below Castelo Novo in the Gardunha Mountains.
It is idealic here - with a spring and pond at the bottom of the property. Sun, shade, many fruit trees and a small organic garden.

This is a wonderful area of Portugal to visit - most people have heard about the Algarve, but little is known about central Portugal and their lovely people. Castelo Novo is an historic village, set in the Garduhna Mountains - in the shape of an amphitheatre.

The village takes its name from the 12th century castle that still stands. Our village is one of the 12 'Aldeias Historicas de Portugal' - we are on a route where you can visit them easily.

In the region there are many attractions for visitors of all ages. There are walking tracks in the mountains, opportunties for scenic bike rides, good places to eat and drink, we even have a dam to swim nearby if you come in Spring or Summer.
